I want to be able to attach the tracker to my child, are there some pouches we can buy?
We have a wide selection of pouches for different applications. If you want a non removal solution, you can choose the securkit, which can only be removed by you. It can be in a pants pocket, back of pants at the waist.
Do you have four-year-olds wearing these watches?
For younger child, you can remove the bracelet and put it in a pouch and attached to the child's clothing. This way it becomes a small GPS tracker.
Is the Childtrac 3G GPS smart watch waterproof?
These watch models are water resistant but not waterproof rating, we have other products that are waterproof.
How accurate is the 3G GPS smart watch?
The precision is approximately 5-20 meters and it depends on location environment, weather conditions and cellular connection strength.
How long does the battery last on the 3G tracking device?
That all depends on usage and frequency reporting settings, if the tracker reports every 3 minutes to the service (default ideal settings) it can last approximately 18 hours. If we do not set a report frequency it can last a few days and the person can locate the GPS tracker by sending the “locate now” function.
Location on demand or “Locate now” function?
If the device is turned on, in a case of emergency you can always send a Locate now command and receive the current location of the tracker.
Longer battery life.
It is always a balance between performance and durability, the same thing like your cell, if you use the GPS on your phone it uses more battery. Same principal with these types of devices. It depends what you want to do, track regularly or less frequent, for example, if we set it to report every 1 hour it will last longer, but the tracking points will be longer apart.
Tracking while moving or not moving.
If the person is not moving, the GPS tracker goes into sleep mode but if the person is constantly moving it will report based on the frequency configuration set.
I purchased the same watch from another company and had to supply a sim card and use a terrible application. Why would yours be different?
The watch may seem the same on the surface, but the products have been modified to meet our standard of quality and security. The are tested by our team and respects and follow the strict American rules for the safety of the wearer.
The WeWatch is a standalone solution (it is not sharing any data with your phone), and it is an accredited with National Cellular carriers. The Communication network varies depending where you are located. In USA we use Nationwide T-Mobile 3G networks, in Canada we use Nation wide Rogers with roaming capacities with Bell, Telus Sasktel and AT&T.
Regular plan with voice allowances
The regular plan includes 30 min of voice per month (counted by the min), unlimited alerts triggers via email and Push notification through the app. We also offer other plans such as Premium plans, dual plans etc.
Basic plan with without voice
The basic plan does not have voice capabilities, it includes unlimited alerts triggers via email and Push notification, geofence zones notifications. You can upgrade or downgrade plans at any time.
Will the call feature work inside buildings?
Yes, the call feature works inside and outside as long as there is a cellular network.
Do I have to pay any set up fees?
No there is no set up fees. We offer a turn-key solution. The Smart watch comes all pre-configured for you so when you receive it, it is ready to go.
I am very interested in purchasing the smartwatch, but is there a contract and will I receive a SIM card?
The plans are month to month and it includes a sim card which will already be installed on your device and your device comes already configured as per your required information.
Is it a separate 3G coverage? Does it share any data from my cell phone provider?
The watch is a standalone solution, it has its own sim card and number, it is not sharing any data with your phone.
Each month I will have to purchase a plan through your website?
No, when you do your first purchase online, you must select the basic or regular plan you want, then you will be charged for the first month and then every month it will automatically be charged every month from your credit card through Stripe secured site.
Will it work effectively in a rural location?
It all depends on the location, we always verify your location, and if there are cellular networks that is covered by our carriers, then it works. If not we may recommend another solution that best fit your requirement.
Will I be able to track the watch using my mobile phone network?
It does not matter what cell phone carrier you use as long as you have internet on your phone and you have our app mobile access, you will be able to monitor the tracker, you can also track from an internet enabled PC, tablet and smartphone. The watch does not require any external device to work, it works on its own.
Can I track the smart watch if it is stolen?
You can track the watch from your mobile and PC Portal while the device is turned ON and online. If the device is OFF, there is no signal coming from the watch to the server so we can not track the device. You or Childtrac technical support is not able to do anything at that point.
If the device has been online before an event occurs, you will be able to get the history of the tracking by date and time and see the last known locations of the device.
Is it necessary to charge the battery every day?
Yes, it is extremely important that at the beginning of each day, to make sure that the device has been charged up and has 100% and that it is turned ON before the child leaves for the day. WeWatch is a life-saving device and it should be always ON, especially when your loved one is outside the comfort zone. It is the responsibility of the parent to make sure that the device is working charged, turned ON and to check on the mobile or PC portal that the Yellow status indicator is ON (Cell communication) the Blue status will be on if child is outside.

2G GPS trackers.
We no longer offer 2G devices. For USA and Canada the 2G networks are shutting down.
I was about to purchase the WeWatch - GPS tracking device for my kids, but can't understand shipping fees.
All products are shipped via UPS or Fed EX or Purolator for guaranteed delivery. We must comply with USA and Canada regulation for packing specification for devices containing lithium battery and must be packed accordingly. We are not allowed to ship via USPS or Canada post.
Do I need to sign any contracts or subscribe to an ongoing service plan to use the Childtrac Personal GPS System?
You only need to select the monthly plan that is best suited to your needs. No long terms agreement, it is a month to month terms. The Childtrac Solution is an all-in-one solution. We offer very affordable and flexible plans.
Are there any restrictions on Tracker/App usage? For instance, how many Instant Locates may I perform per day?
The only restrictions you have are related to your monthly communication plan.
Depending on the plan selected, each plan will have some limitation and Instant location function as it uses limited SMS to bypass the server and provide you location in case of emergency. The plans are created for the above purposes and are usually sufficient. If not, the plan can be tailored to your requirements, etc.
Where can I use my Childtrac Personal GPS tracker?
The Childtrac Solution works anywhere where there is a cellular network, GPS satellites connection.
Can I use my landline to receive messages from my Childtrac Tracker?
No. A regular landline is not able to receive alerts messages. However, a landline can receive SOS call from the device and can receive call from the a landline number if this number is pre-registered as a trusted phone number.
Can I call the tracker from my cell phone?
YES as long as you are listed in the authorized phone numbers. You can call the tracker from your cell phone or landline. This is to assure a direct and private communication with this person.
Will the Childtrac System work with any cell phone carrier?
NO, The Childtrac device and solution uses the latest technology and uses our IoT communication protocols with certified and accredited carriers.

What kind of phone is required to view Childtrac maps?
Any smartphone iOS, Android mobile, tablet or pc with data enable to view and manage the tracker through the web portal on google map.
Will the Childtrac System work outside my home country?
It depends on what plan you have. The plans that we offer for USA only works in the USA, For Canada you can use your tracker anywhere in Canada and USA on AT&T network. If you go to the US there can be roaming charges when you use some functionalities. Please contact us if you are travelling so we are certain you are covered.
Can I use my Childtrac Web portal to track more than one Childtrac Tracker at a time?
Yes absolutely, if you many children, there is no limit to the number of Trackers that can be added to your Childtrac portal. You can also create groups within the portal and view multiple trackers on a map at the same time.
Do I need to pay additional fees to track multiple Trackers on my smartphone?
No. There are no extra fees to tracker multiple devices. The portal access is included in your monthly package.
How accurate are the CHILDTRAC GPS location reports?
GPS accuracy is somewhat dependent upon geographic and atmospheric conditions. Your CHILDTRAC Tracker is always accurate to within a range of 5-20 meters (65.7 feet). 90% of the time, location reports will have an accuracy of within 5 to 10 meters (16.4 to 32.8 feet).
I am a Francophone. Is there a French version of the Tracker and the Web portal?
Yes. The portal is offered in many languages, you can select and set the language of your choice for the mobile app or desktop version.
How do I turn my CHILDTRAC Tracker off?

How long will my CHILDTRAC Tracker's battery last?
Depending on your voice usage and if you travel by walking or car, a single, full battery charge will provide up to 8-18 hours. You can view the battery % status directly on the weWatch or you can set the % of the Battery Monitor feature to send an alert by email when your battery needs charging.
Should I wait for the Tracker's battery to fully deplete before I charge it?
No. There is no need to wait for the battery to fully deplete before recharging it. In fact, we recommend that you charge your Tracker's battery once daily (usually at the end of the day) to ensure a full charge and uninterrupted peace of mind the following day. (like you would do for your Cell)
Do I have to log in to a website or contact customer support to make Tracker configuration changes?
For some options, yes. Some basic functionalities of the CHILDTRAC portal may be too complicated for you, so if you want to modify other functionalities, you will need to contact us in order to correctly do this setting at no cost.
