I purchased the same watch from another company and had to supply a sim card and use a terrible application. Why would yours be different?
The watch may seem the same on the surface, but the products are tested by our team and respects and follow the strict American rules for the safety of the wearer.
The WeWatch is a standalone solution (it is not sharing any data with your phone), and it is an accredited with Rogers IoT communication for Canada. It roams on Bell, Telus Sasktel and AT&T, using the 3G networks when there is no coverage on the Rogers network. 3G GPS smart watch form the Childtrac can be used anywhere in Canada and USA, where you can receive both a cellular and GPS signal. If you want to use the device outside of America, you must contact us to advise where and if we can arrange a proper sim card communication plan for that destination.

Will the call feature work inside buildings?
Yes, the call feature works inside and outside as long as there is a cellular network. Yes, as these require special sim cards that are private and our products are certified on Rogers IoT network. We do not use consumer-type sim card as there are strict rules about this in Canada.
Do I have to pay any set up fees?
No set up fees. Smart watch comes all pre-configured for you so when you receive it, it is ready to go.

I am very interested in purchasing the smartwatch, but is there a contract and will I receive a SIM card?
The plans are month to month and it includes the sim card which will already be installed on your device and your device comes already configured as per your required information.
Is it a separate 3G coverage not sharing any data from my cell phone provider?
It is a standalone solution it is not sharing any data with your phone.
Each month I will have to purchase a plan through your website?
No, when you purchase you must select the basic or regular plan you will be charged for the first month and then it will automatically be charged every month from your credit card. You will be able to view your invoices etc from your portal.
Will it work effectively in a rural location? I will be using the watch in Kendal, ON?
There is coverage on the Rogers network and it also roams on the other networks, it is using the 3G networks.
Will I be able to track the watch using my Telus 3G network?
It does not matter what cell phone you use as long as you have internet on your phone and you have your portal access you can monitor the watch from internet enabled PC, tablet and smartphone. The watch does not require any external device to work. it works on its own.
Can I track the smart watch if it is stolen?
You can track the watch from your mobile and PC Portal while the device is turned ON and online. If the device is OFF, there is no signal coming from the watch to the server so we can not track the device. You or Childtrac technical support is not able to do anything at that point.
If the device has been online before an event occurs, you will be able to get the history of the tracking by date and time and see the last known locations of the device.
Is it necessary to charge the battery every day?
Yes, it is extremely important that at the beginning of each day, to make sure that the device has been charged up and has 100% and that it is turned ON before the child leaves for the day. WeWatch is a life-saving device and it should be always ON, especially when your loved one is outside the comfort zone. It is the responsibility of the parent to make sure that the device is working charged, turned ON and to check on the mobile or PC portal that the Yellow status indicator is ON (Cell communication) the Blue status will be on if child is outside.

What is the responsibility of Childtrac?

Childtrac is not responsible:

- - if the device is broken;

- - if the customer changes watch settings himself;
- - for monitoring the device.
Customer is responsible for:
- - read user guide and view all tutorials prior receiving the device;
- - follow instructions provided;
- - charging the battery every day;
- - making sure that device is ON and Online before leaving the house;
- - monitoring the loved ones;
- - choosing the best way to safely wear tracking device (in the pouch, case, pocket, school bag, etc).

2G GPS trackers.
The 2G GPS trackers may not work everywhere, mainly for urban areas where 2G network is still available. In Canada only available with our Rogers Network plan.
I was about to purchase the WeWatch - GPS tracking device for my kids, but can't understand shipping fees.
The basic shipping cost is 18.99, all Childtrac products are shipped via UPS or Fed EX or Purolator for guaranteed delivery and also we must comply with Canada regulation for packing specification as the devices contains lithium battery and must be packed accordingly. We are not allowed to ship via Canada post.
Basic shipping fees are based on package size and weight.

Do I need an access to a personal computer or mobile to use the CHILDTRAC Personal GPS System?
To use the Childtrac device you do not need a computer. But the Childtrac device sends data to the portal for alert managing and viewing the tracker location are accessible directly through a computer, tablet or smartphone, through a secured private access.
Do I need to sign any contracts or subscribe to an ongoing service plan to use the Childtrac Personal GPS System?
You only need to select the monthly plan that is best suited to your needs. No long terms agreement, it is a month to month terms. The Childtrac Solution is an all-in-one solution. We offer very affordable and flexible plans.
Are there any restrictions on Tracker/App usage? For instance, how many Instant Locates may I perform per day?
The only restrictions you have are related to your monthly communication plan.
Depending on the plan selected, each plan will have some limitation for SMS alerts and Instant location function as it uses limited SMS and voice communication per month. This device’s main function is for GPS locating and to speak to the child in case of an emergency. Soon we will have a mobile push notification with our new application coming this fall and this will reduce the number of SMS used. The plans are created for the above purposes and are usually sufficient. If not, the plan can be tailored to your requirements, etc.
Where can I use my Childtrac Personal GPS tracker?
The Childtrac Solution works together with the Rogers IoT network using a private cellular communication and GPS satellites. Can I use my landline to receive messages from my Childtrac Tracker?
No. A regular landline is not able to receive text messages or emails alert. However, you may use a landline number for the tracker SOS 2-way calling and you can call the device directly if you are configured as the trusted phone number in your portal, if not you will not be able to communicate with the device. This is for security reason, only authorized person (which you select) can call the device directly.
Can I call the tracker from my cell phone?
YES as long as you are listed in the authorized phone numbers. You can call the tracker from your cell phone or landline. From a PC, if you have been provided with a User credential from the account owner, and if you have a microphone or speaker enabled, you will be able to access and call the tracker directly, to speak to the person wearing the tracker. This is to assure a direct and private communication with this person.
Will the Childtrac System work with any cell phone carrier?
NO, The Childtrac device and solution uses the latest technology and uses the IoT communication protocols with certified and accredited carriers. Childtrac is an accredited with Rogers IoT communication for Canada. This is why we provide a custom communication plans that are certified and works with our system.

Will the Childtrac System work outside my home country?
It depends on what plan you have. The plans that we offer for Canadian customer are a National wide Canadian plan. If you go to the US there can be roaming charges when you use some functionalities. Please contact us if you are travelling so we can recommend a proper solution.
Can I use my Childtrac Web portal to track more than one Childtrac Tracker at a time?
Yes absolutely, if you many children, there is no limit to the number of Trackers that can be added to your Childtrac web Client portal. You can also create groups within the portal and view multiple trackers on a map at the same time.
Do I need to pay additional fees to track multiple Trackers on my smartphone?
No. There are no extra fees to tracker multiple devices. The portal access is included in your monthly package.
How accurate are the CHILDTRAC GPS location reports?
GPS accuracy is somewhat dependent upon geographic and atmospheric conditions. Your CHILDTRAC Tracker is always accurate to within a range of 5-20 meters (65.7 feet). 90% of the time, location reports will have an accuracy of within 5 to 10 meters (16.4 to 32.8 feet).
I am a Francophone. Is there a French version of the Tracker and the Web portal?
Yes. The portal is offered in many languages, you can select and set the language of your choice for your portal.
How do I turn my CHILDTRAC Tracker off?
To turn the Tracker off you go in the setting of the device, please contact us and we will provide instruction procedure. But we recommend that you never turn it off so you don’t forget to turn it on.

How long will my CHILDTRAC Tracker's battery last?
Depending on your voice usage and if you travel by walking or car, a single, full battery charge will provide up to 12 hours. You can view the battery % status directly on the weWatch or you can set the % of the Battery Monitor feature to send an alert by email when your battery needs charging.
Should I wait for the Tracker's battery to fully deplete before I charge it?
No. There is no need to wait for the battery to fully deplete before recharging it. In fact, we recommend that you charge your Tracker's battery once daily (usually at the end of the day) to ensure a full charge and uninterrupted peace of mind the following day. (like you would do for your Cell)
Do I have to log in to a website or contact customer support to make Tracker configuration changes?
For some options, yes. Some basic functionalities of the CHILDTRAC portal may be accessible by you via your client access. If you want to modify other functionalities, you will need to contact us in order to correctly do this setting at no cost.
